Biology:
Macrohabitat: Lowlands to midlands, 424 – 1054 meters altitude, prairies, on
NACl-saline, alkaline, and gypsum flats, and in sloughs and marshes. Microhabitat: Adults
are ground-dwelling on exposed moist or dry substrate. Dispersal abilities: Macropterous,
probably capable of flight; slow runner and strong burrowers. Seasonal occurrence: Adults
have been found in June – August. Behavior: Adults are nocturnal, predaceous, and take
cover during the day in burrows they dig into the substrate, however they also run in the full
sun on occasion. Adults overwinter in the substrate.
