Biology:
Macrohabitat: Lowlands, 30 – 125 meters altitude, in Cypress swamps. Microhabitat:
Adults are ground-dwelling and occur on clay flats on substrate shaded by Bald
Cypress (Taxodium distichum (L.) L.C. Rich.) with scattered leaf litter and fallen trees. Dispersal
abilities: Macropterous, probably capable of flight. Swift runners. Seasonal occurrence:
Adults have been found in April – May, and July; teneral adults in late July. Behavior: Adults
are diurnal, predaceous, and are active in sunny places Adults are solitary and they hibernate.
