Common Name: Dawson's Beautiful Black Searcher
Synonyms: Callisthenes dawsoni Dajoz, 1997
Biology:
Macrohabitat: Big Alkali Lake, 2100 meters altitude. Microhabitat: On open ground which is covered almost everywhere with calcium salts and with sparse vegetation cover dominated by Graminea and some Artemisia shrubs. Dispersal abilities: Brachypterous, hence flightless thus vagility limited to walking or running. Seasonal occurrence: Adults have been found in August. Behavior: Adults are predaceous on caterpillars. (Dajoz, 1997; Erwin, 2001)
