Distribution: Native, New World. Brazil – Amazonas, Mat o Grosso, Pará; Paraguay; Perú.

Biology:
Macrohabitat: Lowlands to midlands, 2 – 860 meters altitude on river and
stream margins. Microhabitat: Adults are ground-dwelling on sandy substrate and in grassy
open marshes. Dispersal abilities: Macropterous, capable of flight; slow runners, strong
burrowers. Seasonal occurrence: Adults have been found in January, and May – December.
Behavior: Adults are nocturnal, predaceous, and take cover in wet leaf litter and under decumbent
grasses near water. Adults are attracted to UV lights.
