Distribution: Native, New World. Brazil – Amazonas, Pará; Perú; Venezuela.

Macrohabitat: Lowlands, 2 – 150 meters altitude in varzea forest on river
and lake margins. Microhabitat: Adults are ground-dwelling on alluvial substrates and peaty
shores of black water lakes. Dispersal abilities: Macropterous, probably capable of flight;
slow runners, strong burrowers. Seasonal occurrence: Adults have been found in June,
September, and November – December; teneral adults in November. Behavior: Adults are
attracted to lights at dusk. On the island of Marchantaria near Manaus, Brazil they were collected
at light at 1.6m off the ground in a Macrolobium acacifolium (Benth.) Benth. tree.
