Macrohabitat: Lowlands to midlands, 203 – 1010 meters altitude, in open
mossy marshes, and on beaches. Microhabitat: Adults are ground-dwelling on moist substrate
and sand-mixed clay areas at some distance from water, i.e., not strictly riparian. Dispersal
abilities: Macropterous, probably capable of flight; slow runners; strong burrowers.
Seasonal occurrence: Adults have been found in April – October; teneral adults in July
– August; probably a spring breeder. Behavior: Adults are nocturnal, predaceous, and take
cover during the day in burrows they dig in the substrate. Adults overwinter in the substrate.
Larvae occur in moist substrate.
