Distribution: Native, New World. Argentina (northern); Brazil – Amazonas, Mat o Grosso;
Paraguay; Perú.
Common name: Trivial Small Pedunculate Beetle

Biology:
Macrohabitat: Lowlands to uplands, 14 – 1730 meters altitude on river margins.
Microhabitat: Adults are ground-dwelling. Dispersal abilities: Macropterous, probably
capable of flight; slow runners, strong burrowers. Seasonal occurrence: Adults have
been found in September. Behavior: Adults are nocturnal, predaceous, and take cover during
the day in burrows they dig in the substrate, under drift wood, or surface debris. Adults aestivate
during the dry season in the substrate.
