Locality: Native, New World. Canada- BC; USA- AK, OR, WA.
Common Name: Piper's Gazelle Beetle

Biology:
Macrohabitat: Lowlands to uplands, and supalpine zone, 100-1650 meters altitude. Microhabitat: Under large stones near the water on barren, stony banks of rivers with cold water. Dispersal abilities: Macropterous, probably capable of flight. Seasonal occurrence: Adults have been found in May- October, teneral adults in June. Behavior: Adults are nocturnal, carnivorous; taking cover in the day under stones. Larvae hibernate. (Erwin, 2001; Kavanaugh, 1985 & (in litt.); Larochelle & Lariviere, 2003; Lindroth, 1961)
